High Pressure Expansion Joints Furnished to MHI

Certain licensed polypropylene processes require expansion joints to handle very high pressures. Senior Flexonics Pathway has accumulated a very large experience base in high pressure hinge and gimbal expansion joints for these critical industrial applications.

The subject expansion joints included ply testable design with the requirement that a specified leak rate must be certified to exist through the bellows while the expansion joints were at hydrostatic test pressure. Senior Flexonics Pathway installs a metal mesh between the bellows plies to insure that a leak path will always exist from one end of a ply testable bellows to the other. The leak path is important to insure that a leak in the inner ply of the bellows can be detected at the testable connection located at the ends of the bellows element.
